Do you happen to have a copy of the Oct 26 RIV list and the Nov 1 RIV list?

Thanks and great job coordinating this!

  2. Anita says:

The list has updated again today Nov 26. Does anyone know what changed? Thanks

  3. sergelbergeron says:

Not sure - we will post to our site and analyse. Probably taking more cars off the list??

  4. Sean says:

The obvious…RIV has taken off Subaru Forester from the inadmissible column. Looks like they are reviewing the X and XT models with latter the only model with engine immobilizer.
Also, they took off 2009 Forester which is ironically to have it in the first place since it will only be launched in Japan in another 26 days!
    Hurray!

  5. Paul says:

The list has been updated to reflect that No BMW’s are admissible
without a letter of admissibility from BMW Canada. Just to let you know
the recall letter and admissibility letter are all on one document.
All you need to do is contact BMW Canada and they will send it to the RIV
directly. As far as I have heard, BMW is not making any of their vehicles
inadmissible. do not panic! The phone number to contact is: (905)683-1200

  6. Jim says:

I sure hope you are right about BMW or I am out the $60,000 I ‘loaned’ a friend to buy a new one for me.

  8. Guljit Randhawa says:

  9. Guljit Randhawa says:

    Hi
I just spoke to an RIV rep.
According to him, BMW, MB and few others are being treated privately.
What he meant was that the Admissibility letter and Recall letters have to come from BMW, MB Canada not the US dealers.
He gave me the name of the person(Menfred Mockrey) for MB whose signature has to be on the letter to be accepted by RIV and Transport Canada.
This definitely Reveals a much deeper connection or dealing between Transport Canada and the Dealers.
This problem will not be resolved until a Class Action Law suite is brought upon those who are involved.
I was also advised to stop calling and buy some other vehicle !

Riv list updated again???? on 12 Dec???????????????
Anyone know what are the changes??????????

What..? All 2008 Lexus passenger cars are now INADMISSIBLE now.. All 2008 Lexus WERE admissible on Nov 1st 2007 - Dec 7. until Dec 21, 2007. What in the world is going on at Transport Canada. Why are the manufacturing dictating the list? First it was admissible now it’s not!

  13. VP says:

The RIV list says “SUBJECT TO REVISION WITHOUT NOTIFICATION”. So let RIV give us the form 1 , with a number accepted by Canadian Border Service so that we have 30 days to bring int he car that was allowed on the day the list, said that the model and year were acceptable. That seems fair. All friendly social laws, etc are slowly phased in.

Let us pay the $50 or so for the initial paperwork to get form 1. If we cant get the model we want then let RIV have the application fee. We have to ask Transport Canada for a simpler procedure, as we do not know how high to jump as the bar is being raised by them. What is I an handicapped or have learning difficulties and to some extent mentally challenged to make plans to the car across under undue stress.

I think the government we vote to improve the Canadian life quality should wake up to have newer and safer cars on the roads. A new car is a safer car due to the advancements in the vehicle. Can simple logic not been seen by the government.

I also see that many do not comment on CWB. If there are hundreds of clicks on the site why so few comments, just 3 or 4 per posting. Is everyone in an oasis, i don’t want to be impolite, but even in a democracy like Canada, so few comments. Wake up guys. Comment constructively.

These constant revisions really let us know who the RIV really works for.
Toyota putting all 08 Scions on the list is total bullshit, considering
they’d been letting them in last fall and there are already some in Calgary.
