october.jpgToday the RIV reported that Canadians did surprise many importing experts in October. Despite very low forecasts, due to the tumble of the Canadian $$$$, 16,095 vehicles were imported.  This represents a drop of over 34% from this time last year.

The RIV did acknowledge that the split between commercial and personal importations has now grown to 65/35 for Passenger Cars, Suvs,Minivans, Motorhomes and Trucks.

This means that 5,600 Canadians personally shopped for a vehicle in the US and saved an estimated $28Million.

Year to date 226,414 vehicles have been imported into Canada savings hundreds of millions of dollars for Canadian consumers.  At this time in 2007, 136666 vehicles had been imported.

manitou.JPGHere is a picture of one of our forum members Manitou, he saved over $26,ooo on two Acuras - a MDX $17K and a TSX $9,000.

And Honda and Acura in Canada continue to advertise “Canadian Friendly” prices….

They should call it “Canadian Suckers” pricing.

A word of Thanks!

thank-you.jpgDear Mr. Lamb,

I am going to xxxxxxxxx  to pick-up my car on Monday.  I have noticed the price differential of US and Canadian cars for many years, but your website gave me the information and encouragement to do it.  Thanks a lot.

One day, the Cdn$ strong or not, the cost of similar vehicles for Canadians will converge to the same level.  With your relentless campaign, that day will not be far.

I have made a $20 donation to CarsWithOut Borders, and I will continue to spread the word.

Best Regards,

xxxxxxxxxxx

We want to thank Zack Spencer for the opportunity to be on his show that was broadcast across Canada this afternoon on the Corus Radio Network.

For those of you that missed it you can get it all right here.  See below.

The show focused on our team’s accomplishments over the last 6 months, we discussed the new bumper laws and the impact on the Canadian Automobile Consumer, some of the key issues making a simple import process still a little unwieldy.   The switchboard was swamped!

We wish we had a little more time to discuss where we go from here… but we will issue a posting next week.

In the mean time please sign the petition, encourage your friends, family and co-workers to sign.   As well, if you feel we have helped you or you are looking to support our cause please don’t hesitate to click on our “donate” button.  Please give what you can to help the cause!
