Mr. Cannon and Transport Canada just can’t seem to get it right. Now they have withdrawn their approval of the Zenn car, they fear a safety concern. The low speed car being used among regular cars is their concern! But some of the Provinces like B.C. and Manitoba are telling them to stuff it. Small Motorcycles that can not exceed high speeds are ok, but the Zenn is not. Why is Transport Canada infringing on Provincial authority, just get rid of the whole department and let the Provinces do what they are responsible for. Cannon is so screwed up on this that he is now refusing to give interviews!
Note: 60,000 of these cars have been sold in the U.S. and not one has been reported in an accident as forecasted by our hard working Transport Canada bureaucrats.
The Car is Built in Quebec. The only car builder to set up in the province and Charest and the Liberals are out to Lunch on this one as well.
Here is another excellent report by the CBC. http://www.cbc.ca/national/blog/special_feature/green_rush/zenn_car_update_1.html
The JE show last night (en Francais) features one of the Carwithoutborders founders - Serge L. Bergeron.
The show focused on the problems and roadblocks put up by our Government and the Car Builders to scare Canadians away from buying in the U.S. Interesting.

Note: M. Jutras in the newsclip brings back his car because he can not get a recall letter from Honda. But the RIV always accepted a recall letter on Dealer letterhead. I am not sure this has changed.
Of course the APA , (Automobile Protection Association) and the show Host both conclude that the rules are so complicated that you need a broker!

Last Friday Shawn Apel visited Robert. The folks at DayBreak had initially interviewed Robert back in November and they were looking for an update. The interview aired on Mike Finnerty’s show, February 26th.

Special thanks to Zack Spencer for bringing this issue out Nationally!
Co-founder of CWB, Bob Lamb was on the radio show with Zack Spencer. This was a very good 1 hour show that discussed the history of the immobilizers issues, how the RIV operates and how the RIV lists are updated. Bob explained the political action that was done by everyone involved and how CarsWithoutBorders was the Enabler.
The show brought over 1,200 visits to our site from all across Canada and over 50 people signed our electronic petition which will be presented to the government.
Please continue supporting the site and telling your friends and family to sign our petition for fair car pricing and visit the forum.

Serge and I thought you might enjoy this. It pretty well sums up a lot of our Frustrations in dealing with Transport Canada, and the RIV in 2007. Only those that have been caught up in this mess will really understand this soundtrack!
Please note that although the names might sound familiar, they are all fictional characters!
