Did you know that… on September 1st of this year, our U.S. counterparts mandated “tire Pressure monitoring systems” in all cars! This U.S regulatory initiative has proven benefits related to reducing accidents and saving lives! Tire pressure monitoring systems also have an indirect benefit of improving your fuel economy. Why didn’t we just accept the standard too! How many people will be injured on our roads this year because we simply did not just rubber stamp this standard. Do we have to duplicate all the tests and work that was done in the U.S.?
I went to buy winter rims and tires for my “Car without a Country” and I was told that just to buy the proper rim suited up with the special connecting device to support the new system would cost me around a extra $100 per wheel(tax incl)? So this entire system must be pretty expensive. I will let you finish the rest…..
Now is not the time to rest on our laurels, please read the comment of the day below.
Transport Canada is meeting, behind closed doors, with the “big boys” today!

Find our submission presented to Transport Canada Public Consultation on December 6th, at 11:00 A.M. regarding the proposed amendment to Regulation 114.
With all of the running around this week-end, in preparation for the consultations, I simply did not have a chance to do justice to the “Car of the Day”. But I thought about all my resourceful teamates out there. Maybe you would enjoy a little challenge. Especially those members of our “Awareness” team. If you don’t have time just post it onto one of the forms and let it roll.
Is this add that I read this morning a good deal for the Canadian Consumer? - comments appreciated!

The changes proposed appear to be a breath of fresh air for many. It might not appear to meet everyone’s needs 100%. We have been invited by Transport Canada to present our position on the new regulation. That’s why we need to think this one through and we invite you to submit all your ideas and comments on this site (comments).
- Our immediate goal is to make sure that our friend and teammate Carl can come through with his promise to his two young children. He promised to drive them to Disneyland prior to the holidays. We are sure there are many anxious families with holiday plans on hold, and we want then all to enjoy this special time of the year.
