GM Canada follows Chrysler U.S. lead.. Ford Next?

Yesterday GM Canada follows Chrysler U.S.  lead and will be out of the leasing business on August 1st.

Some say it is the price of gas that is changing the car world and that is true in the US, but in Canada it may be two-fold.  With all the  car dealers bringing in used US cars and many Canadians going south, or doing comparison shopping the “real value”  of many of the leased and new cars has been discovered. 

You were gouged on the price in the first place!

Does Bill Gates know that they Can’t sell to Canadians??!!

We wonder if these boys are forking back dividends at 24% like one of the Canadian Dealership funds were reported on today, or are they growing the business to take out some of the “slow” movers.

AutoCanada Income Fund.. a good buy Now??!!

autocanada.jpgCanada’s only publicly traded auto dealership group has been upgraded to a ”strong buy” by Analyst Andy Nasr at Raymond James.

Andy seems to think that of the 22 dealerships included in the fund , 15 are in the west, and since the western economy is still booming shares should rise to $6.00 from the current range below $4.00.    Last August the shares were trading at $12.50.

Such a Dealllll! Is Mazda trying to pull one over on Canadians?

manufacturer suggested retail prices for its 2009 models. The price reductions
on the most popular vehicles range from $800 to $3,200, or 4% to 12%, compared
to the 2008 models.
