lol (Laughed Out Loud) when reading your misinformed article on Page two titled “Cross-Border Shopping” in the Gazette today.
- You forgot to mention the most important and appealing aspect of Cross-Border shopping is the tremendous savings that can be achieved if you purchase items that are manufactured in Mexico, Canada or the U.S. These items are all duty free and do not require any length of stay. One can expect to save quite substantially. When declared at the border, one is only required to pay the GST and QST on the value of the goods.
- I also find it quite amazing that you would not mention the thousands of Canadians that are ordering goods on the internet, having them delivered to mail boxes in Plattsburg, Massena and Malone. All legitimate purchases. They venture down to the U.S. for the day, pick up their merchandise, shop for groceries and come home.
- Instead you appear to waste your newsprint informing us that a second hand mattress needs to be fumigated prior to importation to Canada. I imagine there are thousands of Canadians importing used mattresses.

It has been a while since we have posted here, but we continue to try and monitor the site and return your emails. We have seen considerable action in the last several weeks and we are glad that many Canadians have a neutral site to examine their buying options. We thought a poll on our forum might get us some feedback and let us all see how Canadians feel about buying a car in the U.S.
