36,272 vehicles imported in the 1st Q - 2010
Just stand by and watch in the next few days we will be providing some interesting statistics on the vehicle imports into Canada. By company, by type - cars, motorcylces, commercials or by Province and we will tie this in with the value of the Canadian dollar.
Keep on watching for more helpful insights. Some numbers that maybe dealers don’t really want you to know.

Serge and Bob - I’m pleased to see you are still providing this valuable service to Canadians! It’s amazing how the general interest in buying in the US spikes as the dollar hits par, compared even with 99 cents. Perhaps the news media has something to do with this, along with the psychological impact. Obviously, from the numbers, there many savvy folks who have continued to see the light on vehicle importation. My appreciation is that manufacturers learned a lesson after the last bubble in late 07, and began to price lower end vehicles in Canada to better reflect what was going on in the US - not through MRSP adjustments, but by offering rebates, retail cash etc. It would be interesting to see at what price point (eg make and model) consumers are finding the best deals at the present time. Keep up the good work!
