Tag: - U.S. DealersRobert Lamb @ 12:13 pm

Today the Canadian Dollar hit 1.0875 U.S.  It appears we are heading towards parity again.

Car buyers, keep your powder dry.   We have been getting calls from U.S. dealers wanting to advertise.   Should we persue this or wait?

Why wait? I would love to see ads from U.S. dealers now. Even at a 90
cent dollar we could save money on some U.S. models.

  2. DREW says:

Well since I now own part of GM, I’m just going to wait till they send me my company car. Hope its a cadillac XLR.

I will compare a few Toyota cars and see how it works out. Bob do we have any recent import figures or is the RIV hiding these numbers again?

Just received an EQuote from a US Honda dealer for an Odyssey EX-L RES (DVD) $29,500 US, that’s included Destination Charge. The same model in Canada goes for $44,600 Can. On top of that, Honda Canada removed the $3000 cash incentive for June.

At this rate par will be in 2 weeks, but with such a sharp move i might be inclined to wait for a 5 cent better than par rate.

  7. Kirkland Joe says:

Absolutely! I’m now wondering if there’s a possibly on saving an a Hyundai Elantra or Sonata…my 2000 Altima is feeling some pains.

  8. Kirkland Joe says:

    LEAC460, thanks!.

How much without the leather (just the EX model)?

Does anyone have US dealer invoice pricing info. (for negotiation purposes)?

  9. LEAC460 says:

Kirkland Joe, an EX is around $27K. Please check the selling price at this Honda dealer in NH, will give you an idea for the price.
For your info’s, there is a Acura dealer in New Jersey willing to sell new car to Canadian. I asked a quote via their web page, after receiving the quote, I asked if they can sell to Canadian, the answer was yes.

Keep those discussion going - maybe the good car buying times are coming back. I haven’t compared Toyota pricing yet. But the Florida Toyota dealer and the Watertown NY deguy refuses to sell to Canadians. They refuse to sell for cars not destined for the US market. At least when I bought my new Nike Sumo Driver in Florida, I was able to bring and play into Canada.

is the info on the warranties of imported cars up to date?

looks like the APA haven’t updated the warranty info.
