RIV reports 16,095 vehicles imported in October!
Today the RIV reported that Canadians did surprise many importing experts in October. Despite very low forecasts, due to the tumble of the Canadian $$$$, 16,095 vehicles were imported. This represents a drop of over 34% from this time last year.
The RIV did acknowledge that the split between commercial and personal importations has now grown to 65/35 for Passenger Cars, Suvs,Minivans, Motorhomes and Trucks.
This means that 5,600 Canadians personally shopped for a vehicle in the US and saved an estimated $28Million.
Year to date 226,414 vehicles have been imported into Canada savings hundreds of millions of dollars for Canadian consumers. At this time in 2007, 136666 vehicles had been imported.

Wow - watch that dollar coming back - close to 87 cents. Hopefully we can get that economy back on track with lower fuel and gaz prices.

Despite the Canadian Dollar being low @ this moments, there are still a lot of values in some cars in USA mostly the expensive ones that are way overpriced here in Canada. Canadians will never stop to find the bargains. Thanks to the power of the internet!
