Biggest U.S. Chevy dealer closes!

The Globe and mail reported today that Bill Heard Enterprises Inc., the biggest Chevrolet dealer in the country, said Wednesday it is closing its 13 remaining dealerships, unable to survive in a weak economy with high gas prices and an inventory heavy on trucks and SUVs.

The Columbus-based company said in a statement it tried to avoid the closures, which will affect about 2,700 employees.

One has got to wonder when the U.S. dealerships will start advertising to Canadians.   It might not be much, but some of the U.S. dealerships that were formally discriminating against Canadians would do well to start selling to us.

We all feel sorry for the folks losing their jobs, but isn’t that the case, it is always the little guy that gets scr##wed when the big boys mismange.   ie… $700 billion!

    maybe somebody from this Georgia office should have a look at Canadian Car Manufacturers practices???

    p.s. I hear the NPD are now promising to have a new Ministry for Consumers Protection?
