Honda Canada Thinks Canadians are stupid!
Have you checked out the latest prices for the 2009 Honda Pilot 4WD XL, no fancy options added.
In Canada 44,520 plus 1,540 D&H = $46,060 Canadian $$$$
In U.S. $35,195 Plus $670 D&H = $35,865 U.S.
Correct me if I am wrong but this is the same car, exactly identical, except in the US model you have TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and a trunk Latch (Now manditory in all U.S. cars) You have a safer car!!
Adopting such a great pricing descrepancy, Honda certainly thinks all Canadians are stupid!!
And did you ever read Honda’s Philosophy! We dare you to read this and not laugh…. and then cry for all the Canadians getting “gouged”.

Honda knows that there are some Canadians out there who have plenty of money to spare or don’t comparison shop with the U.S. Ideally, Canadians would send a message to Honda Canada in the form of zero sales. If sales turn out to be high, then I congratulate Honda’s executives and shareholders and encourage them to raise the price even higher.

Unfortunately, July sales for the 2009 Pilot hit a new record in Canada so there’s little incentive for Honda Canada to change their ways. I’m currently shopping for an 8-passenger SUV and the 2009 Pilot is one of my top 3 contenders. However, the $10,000 price markup coupled with their refusal to honor the warranty on US-imported vehicles has prevented me from choosing to buy another Honda. At $50,000, the 2009 Honda Touring is on par with what 2007 Cadillac Escalades are going for right now.

I was looking at a honda ridgeline. After I saw the way honda treats Canadian buyers I opted for a US Toyota highlander. I buy a new/allmost new vehicle every year & Honda will never ever get 1 dime from me!
