Well we don’t believe where the time has gone, but today, August 20th 2008, is the 9th month anniversary of CarWithoutBorders.
At this point Serge and I would like to thank all our members, partners, sponsors and supporters and particularly those that have donated to the cause.

Here is the latest!
It appears that the differences are:
2009 Toyota Yaris Liftback is now admissable.
Vantare Intl. and Winnebego Industries - modifications.
Deletions of Holiday Rambler,Jayco Inc.,Kibbi and Liberty Coach.
And last but not least the wording on Volvo has changed again to read “Please contact Volvo Cars of Canada at 1-800-663-8255 for detailed contact information regarding retailers in Canada as well as information on U.S. Vehicle importation”
I hope they have it right now…. but why can they not say..
“If your new U.S. Market Car comes equipped with those items required to pass the Canadian Tire Test…(Daytime running lights, speedometer in kilometers, immobilizer , child teather strap holders… etc.. then you are ok”
Transport Canada just wants to confuse Canadians. Shame on you Mr. Cannon!
Here is the differences report:
diff2008-08-13and2008-08-20.pdf
The RIV reported yesterday that of the 22,916 Vehicles Imported last month 10,541 of 46% were personal importations. 12,324 or 54% were commercial importations.
The percentages are in line with the year-to-date figures. Of the 174,085 importations this year, 46% or 80,849 have been personal importations.
Based on a modest savings of $5,000 per vehicle, Canadians saved $52.7 Million in July. YTD savings now reach $404.2 Million.
G.M. Canada remains silent. Mr. Low and friends will be maintaining Canadian “sucker” pricing.
Smart Canadians will shop in the U.S.
The new discounted price, makes the gap wider even given the recent tumble in our dollar!
Wonder what Mr. Low and the boys in Oshawa have planned now!
So GM U.S. today confirmed that it will offer employee discounts to everyone starting Aug 20th.
