Very nice of this dealer, however his base price (MSRP) is about $4500 above invoice price. Only in Canada do we pay MSRP. Down there nobody pays MSRP pricing, especially on a SUV (about 17mpg city)which nobody wants because of the price of gas.
THIS is just my point of view.

Thanks for your feedback. So do you have a dealer willing to sell at the “invoice price”? Please let us know.

Drew or anyone, where do we find this invoice price?

For that kind of savings, maybe we should adopt an American. Have them buy the car, and then get stuck paying the state tax for the plates. Unless of course we did all this in a state with no tax!

I wish more U.S. dealers were Canadian friendly. Yes, U.S. invoice prices are all over the Internet. One such place to see them for this model is at http://www.carsdirect.com/lexus/rx_350/prices . It says $33188 as the invoice price but the MSRP says $37500 so I’m not sure how to equate it to $39100. Maybe destination charge but still doesn’t make sense.

Thanks for the feedback Rob. The model above is all wheel drive and is listed as 38,900 MRSP at the site you indicated. Have you purchased one from this site? How was the experience? Did they sell to Canadians or did you have to adopt an American buddy?

Thanks again for taking the time to pass on this site and info to us.

This is what I rec’d when I tried to get a quote: (I used a NY zip of 12901- Plattsburg)

    Thank you Robert!

We’re Sorry. We do not currently have a dealer partner who is a match for your request.
Please try back soon as we are adding dealers in your area daily.

Anyone out there know how to make this site work?

You’re welcome Robert, no but tried putting in my fake New York ZIP code but real Canadian phone number and the site detected the inconsistency. Sites like this one and cars.com are code for doing research though.

I like cars.com because I can search for inventory throughout the entire U.S. by using the advanced search. ie. 2008 BMW 328xi. I use the keywords auto, coupe, and space to filter just the automatic coupes with space gray as the colour.

Sorry about the typos above. I meant to write:

You’re welcome Robert. No, I haven’t purchased from that site but I tried it by putting in my fake New York ZIP code and real Canadian phone number. The site detected the inconsistency and so that was the end of it. Sites like this one and cars.com are good for doing research though.

I like cars.com because I can search for inventory throughout the entire U.S. by drilling down and then filtering. For example I drill down to find all 2008 BMW 328s. Then, I use the keywords auto, coupe, and space to filter just the automatic coupes with space gray as the colour.

rx sales were down almost 20% last month in the US.

    edmunds.com 2008 rx350 with levinson / premium pkg…

total msrp with options and dest = 45755
total invoice with options and dest = 40674
edmunds TMV true market value (what they say others are paying) = 41,919..

So invoice plus a grand. that would be a fair price.. Allowing us to buy at MSRP may seem a deal, but it is all relative. No one in the US would pay sticker for that. IMO no canadian should roll over and do it either.
