Chrysler thinks Canadians are Mushooms!

Tag: Consumers, DaimlerChryslerRobert Lamb @ 4:03 pm

chrysler_logo.gifAfter announcing big price cuts in Canada this week, Chrysler is treating Canadians just like mushrooms!  They might have lowered their prices, but they disabled the “pricing / build your own car” features on their web site!

That’s right Canadians, they keep us in the dark and throw crap at us!

Make sure you price out your new Chrysler in the U.S prior to getting sucked in.

Let us know if their new pricing is real or just another “Honda - sham”.

Chrysler removing this feature from their WEB site are making a serious mistake. It shows all consumers that they are playing games with pricing and are not open about pricing. Today in 2008 - with the internet, all modern companies are posting their prices. There is fierce competition in retail, travel, banking, etc. for consumers’ scarce dollars. Consumers are shopping on-line to get the most of their money and they will penalyse Chrysler for doing this. They will lose big time. Secret deals - behind the manager’s door are things of the past - the internet is here Chrysler - this tactic won’t work.

It is a matter of time before they reverse this decision or they will close down their doors.

Has anyone contacted Chrysler about their sneaky, polyester wearing used car salesmen tactics??? Friggin weasel snake baXXXXds. I really need to move back to the U.S.

just went to the Chrysler website. I could not find anywhere that i could contact someone other than to request a quote. The good news is that when i started searching for a Chrysler 300 a survey popped up and i let them know how dissapointed i was that i could not find out a price of a vehicle on there site and that they had to rely on slick salespeople to sell their vehicles. I also pointed out that there are plenty of other car companies that i can purchase a vehicle from.
If Y’all get a chance go to the site and fill out the survey expressing your feelings regarding them not having a build and price function.

Funny I am building and pricing on chrysler.ca as we speak.

Shoot first and ask questions later.

    Ridiculous post.

Richard, I am on the chrysler website (8:15 eastern) and I was wondering how you can build. I don’t see that feature anywhere.

  6. Richard says:

    alex. 6:54am mtn time..

    chrysler.ca

click on for example the 300.

click on the small picture ofany available model..

add and remove options as you see fit..

300c post price reduction looks to start for me at 40,645. srt design package is 1795. Luxury group II is 600. Power sunroof 1075.

This is no doubt a poor interface and whoever designed it needs a slap.. but to make a thread about them removing it is another embarrassing example of ready fire aim here. Best of luck getting credibility as a website with official bodies while posting threads going off half cocked.

Thanks for your input Richard. We call them as we see them. We didn’t see the feature you describe last week, but as you say it could have been easily missed, as the design is very poor.
What about the delivery and prep pricing?

But the bottom line is… are the prices fair? do some comparisons and let us know!

Richard, I went berzerk re: Chrylser website. I was wrong and made a mistake. I have to totally disagree with your statement:
“Best of luck getting credibility as a website with official bodies while posting threads going off half cocked”
Mistakes will happen and I think they may happen again, however as long as Car Without Borders and their members admit and apologize when a mistake is made it should not affect credibility.

OK, I think I started this, and so I will lay out my experience. One week ago I read in the FP newpaper that Chrysler had lowered prices. I went to the web site, looked at a number of auto’s, and could not get a build and price screen. There was a line, which connected me by phone to a Chrysler customer service operator. I explained I could not build and price. They told me they had updated site, and that was no longer a feature. I asked they elevate my displeasure, up the old chain. I then posted a comment. I think at the time my facts were correct. Today however, you are correct - build and price is now there if you click on a particular auto. No so last week. Maybe sites like this, and consumer feedback made a difference. However I restate, a customer service person told me on May 2nd, 2008 this feature was not on their Cdn web site.

  10. Robert Lamb says:

Stephen, thanks for your posted comment. We agree with you, We are pretty sure that when we went in after seeing your comment that there was no pricing, but then “poof” it was back.

We are not sure what to think, could it be that your complaint made them scrabble and put in some “un-friendly” solution???

But the bottom line is, has anyone compared the pricing and is it fair, or is Chrysler just tring to pull the wool over Canadians eyes?

  11. Stephen Wisking says:

I just did a build and price on an Aspen - it’s tough on the Cdn site, but here are the numbers:

US inlcd Nav/options 2 pkg/top and inlcd. destination charge $41,335
    Same car in canada, $48,770.
    Save $7435 by going south!
I guess Chrysler thinks Canadians should pay 15.25% more for the same gas sucking car as our American neighbours and friends.
