RIV clears up recall letter issue!

  Please find the reply to our e-mail to the RIV on the recall letter.  We hope it clears up some of the issues for our members and supporters.

    I don’t get it. The first line of their reply says “We don’t accept the letter from dealer”. So do they or don’t they accept recall letters from the dealer?

    My interpretation is that they need both the letter, on dealer letter head, indicating your VIN number has no recalls and the computerized print out from their system.

    The list keeps getting shorter. It used to be that there were only a few manufacturers where you had to approach
    them directly for the recall letter (ie BMW, MB) and now it looks like there are only a few
    manufacturers where you do not!
