George Iny puts the “P” back into “APA”

Tag: ConsumersRobert Lamb @ 1:39 pm

apa1.jpgToday, Robert and Serge spent over two hours on the phone with George Iny and two of his representatives, Michel and Sabastien.

We reviewed each of the 34 issues.

As a result George and his team has agreed to our position on  29 of the 33 items.

The APA website will be modified next week.

We have also agreed to work together to resolve the other 4 issues to our membership’s satisfaction and the general feeling was that this will not be difficult.

More importantly we have agreed to work closer together in the future to ensure  the best for the Canadian Automobile Consumer.

As a token of good faith we have agreed to now “upright” their logo and strike out our issue 34.

Thank-you George for acting on our issues so quickly!

This was a very positive meeting, and now we can turn our focus back our other issues - the Canadian Car Manufacturers, Transport Canada and the RIV.

Great job creating advocacy for the cause. The APA has more awareness linked with their name. The more people we have working in the same direction, the sooner we can get things changed. Hip hip Hooray!!

Awesome job gentlemen, hats off to you both. Looks like we’re making in roads with stronger allies everyday. Let’s keep the pressure on to level the playing field and keep it that way. Maybe I’ll get my 05 TT Roadster on the road for summer 08!

Thanks to Robert and Serge for CWB and Mr. Iny and his associates Michel and Sebastien from APA for moving forward positively. Your dialogue will make it more likely that Canadians will not continue to be disadvantaged when buying a car in Canada.

The harmonization of Canadian motor vehicle safety standards and environmental standards with those of the U.S. will benefit the Canadian buyer who will be able to buy in Canada without having to pay more than an American for the same car as is presently the case. This will be good for the Canadian dealership networks as well.

Great job guys! The APA charges $68/yr for a membership but you guys are obviously doing a much better job, not to mention at a much better price!
