Thank-you for the outstanding feedback many of you provided on the week-end. We were so overwhelmed, that we made certain that we could find the Video -
Also find an email we have sent of to the producers and other folks working the show. We have offered to help them get the real message to the Canadian Automobile Consumer. 2008-03-17kenzie.pdf
Note: to really understand more of the issue , please take a look at the next post dated 2008-03-15.
In spite of excessive Higher prices, Motoring TV tells Canadians to spend their $$$ in Canada and support their local dealers. They fail to recognize that this is not a dealer issue. It is the car manufacturers in the U.S., Japan and Europe that are “gouging” $6-7 Billion every year from Hard working Canadians! Yes, we pay $6-7 billion a year more for our cars than our American Cousins. Now how does that make you feel about pissing away your hard earned money to support your local boys!
Average Hard working Canadians should have the freedom to make that choice. The choice between buying in the U.S. or buying locally. Right now, given the positions taken by the Car Manufacturers, our government and the media, the Canadian consumer is being “handcuffed” and misinformed. The pricing issue is not complex. It is in the best interests of the Car Manufacturers to make it seem so.
Read the exchange of emails with Bob & Motoring TV. They are not on the same wave length as CWB and most hard working Canadians …. and they did not even consider our challenge to report both sides of the story!

I just checked Transport Canada & US Transportation web sites - ref. recalls for Honda and Toyota
2008 - Toyota Canada - NO recalls - In USA - Camry has a recall?
2008 - Honda Canada - recalls on FIT and Ridgeline only - In the USA, same as Canada
So Honda is refusing to give a No-recall letter on cars - vans that have NO recalls.
Transport Canada - RIV - please wake up!
Transport Canada recall site - http://www.tc.gc.ca/roadsafety/recalls/
US Government recall site - http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/
Check for yourself when you are paying for a recall letter on a car that has NO RECALL
USA HONDA RECALL Canada Honda Recall
It looks like Volvo Canada is making it easy for Canadians to buy a Car in the U.S. A while back when we reviewed the procedure with the Customer Service folks they were reluctant to put anything in writing to us. Now they have an online “request letter of Admissibility” along with other questions and answers.
A: You will require the following four items from Volvo before filling out the required forms to obtain a Certificate of Compliance from the Canadian Government’s Registrar of Imported Vehicles:
- Recall clearance letter to be issued by Volvo Cars of North America
- A Letter of Admissibility to be issued by Volvo Cars of Canada Corp.
- Proof of safety and mechanical inspection and required modifications from an authorized Volvo retailer in Canada
- A Safety Inspection Compliance Letter to be issued by Volvo Cars of Canada Corp.
Check it out.
Has anyone followed these procedures? Do they work? Please let us know.
Do any of our members or supporters know anything about this group. Looks like they represent a group called “Council of Ministers/Deputy Ministers - Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety”. Their last News release was September 22, 2005. Looks like another waste of taxpayers $$$$$
