Our Logo - Released Today!

Tag: Our TeamRobert Lamb @ 8:04 pm

2008-03-31  - Today Robert Lamb and Serge Bergeron, co-founders of CarsWithoutBorders,  are pleased to announce and introduce our Logo.  The new CarsWithoutBorders logo was designed with the help and feedback of many  of our members.   We were overwhelmed with your replies, comments, and suggestions to our post of March 6th.

This post received a record number of comments from our members. Andreas Friesen, of Winnipeg Manitoba, volunteered his time and efforts to support our cause.   We are very thankful and appreciative.   Andreas quickly picked up the challenge and worked very effectively with us to produce a product we are very proud of.

  • So just click on either entry below:
  • Logo E                                     Logo F

We have also designed a “generic” members card, for our members, that you may want to print and hand out to your family, friends, acquaintances and “Local Car Dealer”

CWB Member Card

  • Note: we are looking for a couple of volunteers to help us co-ordinate, produce and distribute bumper stickers, coffee mugs, and other marketing materials that would help us spread the word.  We would like to hear your ideas.  Please contact us at robert@carswithoutborders.com or serge@carswithoutborders.com

CWB is benchmarked to other sites - and we do good

Tag: Consumerssergelbergeron @ 9:30 pm

CWB recently subscribed to Google Benchmarking Tool which compares key statistics for web site of similar sizes. CWB is doing really well thanks to you all.  Here are a few key numbers for the last month.

  • Visits per month – CWB about 15,000 - 201% above the benchmark of 5,000
  • Page views – CWB about 62,000 per month – 239% above the benchmark of 18,000
  • Average time on site – CWB 4.52 minutes + 94% over benchmark of 2.31 minutes
  • Pages per visit – CWB 4.16 pages +13% above benchmark of 3.68 pages
  • Bounce rate – CWB 40% - this is 13% below the benchmark rate of 46%, this is good!
  • % new Visitors – CWB 33% - this is 48% below the benchmark of 63%, this is good!

In conclusion, those who have discovered CWB really love the site and return over and over. Thank you all; but  we all know that we need to do more awareness in the media, papers as many have already commented on. Keep the ideas and comments coming.

But make sure you tell your friends and associates, ask them to signthe petition.

Prices Plummet! and Reader floored by Honda price Gaps!

Tag: Auto Manufacturers, Consumers, Honda / AcuraRobert Lamb @ 1:28 pm

Here are two good stories today on Car prices.

One from the Hamiltom Spectator, re: Honda prices, titled ” Reader floored by Price Gaps on Honda Vehilcles! ”

2008-03-28hamiltonspec.pdf

We fail to understand the spin that the Honda Public affairs person put on the gap!

  • “they are not the same apples to apples Vehicle” !

The American one comes with TPMS and a 2 Litre windshield washer reservoir.  The Canadian has a 4 litre windshield washer reservoir and indicator light!

Shame on You Honda!    The media should just ask these “spindoctors” to describe in detail  the true differences!   Honda will never answer this question!     Maybe one of our members will track them down and ask the question.

And another in  the National Post Titled “Values Plummet”

2008-03-28nationalpost.pdf

Both articles fail to mention or interview dealers or people in the U.S. to find out:   Prices are going down there too!!

  • The centrepiece of the budget document – the $1.5-billion job training plan – includes $53-million from the 2007-08 budget year to go directly to company-run training programs in the auto sector. This includes $25-million for the Yves Landry Foundation, a private industry-education partnership; $22.8-million for Toyota’s Canadian training and research centre in Cambridge; and $5.6-million for Chrysler Canada’s training programs in Brampton, Toronto and Windsor.
