EcoAuto Rebate - state your case
You will notice on the right side of our site a new form EcoAuto state your case. If you imported a qualifying car and would like to share your data we will tabulate the numbers and it will give us more power to deal with Transport Canada. This is not a petition - only those that have actually imported one of those hybrids or very high fuel efficiency cars. Example ( Prius, Camry Hybrid, Yaris, some Civics, etc)

New Fuel Regulations:
When I first read about the new fuel regulations (MVFCSA) I will admit that I was a little skeptical as to their feasibility.
I now believe that I understand fully it’s intention and in my opinion it will be easily met.
Here is how I see it:
a: All negotiations will be with the automobile manufacturers.
b: The automobile manufacturers will be the final authority, as usual, as to meeting any and/or all of these regulations.
c: The automobile manufacturers will as usual be on the honour system.
In effect these rules are in line with the contractual requirements previously imposed on the automobile manufacturers regarding the present Immobilizer, Bumper, Safety Regulations.
I surmise that the following clause would also be understood.
“All specification/regulations are not binding and are subject to change at any time for any reason without notice or explanation”
This would put the ONUS on the automobile manufacturers to NOT give us any answers and we would be able to by-pass Transport Canada completely

To all reading this - we now have 12 documented cases and we have new cases daily - so please tell your friends etc who could report their case. On the week-end CWB will send the cases to the Minister Cannon to see how he will deal with it. And also apply for the rebate even if you get refused.
Thanks
