Did you know that?

Tag: Comment of the dayRobert Lamb @ 2:21 pm

Did you know that…  on September 1st of this year, our U.S.  counterparts  mandated “tire Pressure monitoring systems” in all cars!  This U.S regulatory initiative  has proven benefits related to reducing accidents and saving lives!  Tire pressure monitoring systems also have an indirect benefit of improving your fuel economy. Why didn’t we just accept the standard too!  How many people will be injured on our roads this year because we simply did not just rubber stamp this standard. Do we have to duplicate all the tests and work that was done in the U.S.?

I went to buy winter rims and tires for my “Car without a Country” and I was told that just to buy the proper rim suited up with the special connecting device to support the new system would cost me around a extra  $100 per wheel(tax incl)?   So this entire system must be pretty expensive.   I will let you finish the rest…..

“for more information about importing a vehicle and buying cars from the U.S.  visit www.carswithoutborders.com or www.tc.gc.ca. “

We just wish Transport Canada Spokespersons, would stop saying it is “only 1000 or so people affected” or downplaying the inconvience on our members and other Canadian citizens.! Spent some time in our  shoes!  We followed the rules!

There are over 20,000,000 million cars on the roads in Canada,  99% of them do not have immobilizers! If  we are “only 1000 people” what is the problem!  Release our cars now!

Where is their common sense and compassion.!

Car of the Day

With all of the running around this week-end, in preparation for the consultations, I simply did not have a chance to do justice to the “Car of the Day”.  But I thought about all my resourceful teamates out there. Maybe you would enjoy a little challenge.  Especially those members of our “Awareness” team.  If you don’t have time just post it onto one of the forms and let it roll.

Is this add that I read this morning a good deal for the Canadian Consumer?   - comments appreciated!
