Not bad for a site that was built and started last Tuesday. Please keep up the support.
With very few exceptions, no Canadian can import a vehicle from the US manufactured after September 1, 2007.
Canadians are welcome to go shopping in the US to benefit from lower prices but if you find a dealer who will sell you a new or used 2008 vehicle for significantly less than in Canada (which you will) – you can’t bring it back to Canada. You can pick up a couple of sweaters, a big screen TV and a some appliances but don’t pick up a GMC, TOYOTA or HONDA truck to bring them back to Canada. The vehicle can’t be registered in Canada so you might as well leave it at the border.
Why - Transport Canada has mandated that all vehicles imported into, or sold in Canada, must have an anti-theft device which is unique to Canada. US vehicle manufacturers are claiming their US vehicles don’t meet the Canadian standard and have deemed many of their vehicles as Inadmissible. Through not allowing for free trade, Transport Canada’s actions are hurting all Canadians.
